5-Day Northern Tanzania Safari: Lake Manyara, Serengeti & Ngorongoro

Your adventure begins with an 8:00 AM pickup from your accommodation, followed by a scenic drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park. Despite its relatively small size, the park offers dramatic landscapes, from lush acacia forests to majestic giant figs and mahogany trees. On your full-day game drive, you may encounter giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, baboons, blue monkeys, and hippos. Photographers will appreciate the stunning vistas, where wildlife appears against the backdrop of the sparkling lake. Optional activities include a bike tour or a boat excursion. The day concludes with a return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The drive itself is spectacular, offering your first glimpse of the endless plains that give the Serengeti its name. Upon arrival, you will begin exploring its vast savannahs, home to the great migration of wildebeest and zebras, as well as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. A hot lunch will be served en route or at a picnic site, after which you continue your game viewing before reaching your luxury lodge in the central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Today is dedicated entirely to the Serengeti, with flexibility according to your preferences. Your guide will help plan morning and afternoon game drives or a full-day safari with a picnic lunch. The park offers exceptional wildlife diversity, including buffaloes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, and countless antelope species. Explore different areas of the Serengeti, observe predators on the hunt, and enjoy panoramic views of the iconic plains. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.

Wake up early for an optional morning game drive in the Serengeti, capturing the activity of wildlife at sunrise. After a hearty brunch, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the natural wonders of the world. The crater spans 102 square miles with walls rising 2,000 feet, creating a diverse ecosystem home to elephants, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest, lions, and flamingos. Arrive at your luxury tented camp on the crater rim in time for a sundowner, dinner, and overnight stay.

Begin the day with an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for an immersive wildlife experience. The morning game drive offers encounters with the Big Five and other inhabitants amidst one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Africa. After a picnic lunch near Hippo Lake, enjoy a short final game drive before ascending and exiting the conservation area. You will return to Arusha or your departure point, concluding your 5-day safari adventure.
